Wellbridge Respite Care
Respite Care services for family caregivers
At different points in our lives almost all of us assumes the role of caregiver or care recipient. New mothers care for infants. A father will bandage his daughter’s skinned knee. A wife will give a back rub after a hard day at the office. A husband will serve breakfast in bed. We care for a sick friend, or hold someone’s hand before surgery.
These times of caring are rewarding for both the recipient and the caregiver. These times of caring create memories.
Sometimes, however, caregiving can become straining. Family members who provide care over a long period of time can become tired. Caring for an aging spouse is our life commitment, but can be difficult. Caring for a parent who once cared for you is noble, but challenging. Caring for a disabled child is motivating, but can be heart wrenching.
Sometimes family caregivers need a break. Family caregivers have to take the time to care for themselves and other members of their family. Family caregivers need time away from giving to refresh, renew, and revitalize.
For these very special caregivers, Wellbridge is proud to offer Respite Care. Our Respite Care services are designed around the philosophy of Total Care Plus.
Respite = Relaxation
Respite only works if the caregiver is able to relax. If she feels that her loved one is not being cared for with the expertise and dedication she herself brings to the effort, it’s not possible for her to relax. Many family caregivers feel guilty over time away from their loved one. The team at Wellbridge Home Care wants to give you true relaxation.
Each Respite Care client, whether for an afternoon or a week vacation, is assigned a care manager who will develop a plan. You’ll know exactly what care is being provided in your absence. You’ll meet the caregiver in advance if you wish.
Respite = Relationships
Some home care companies provide respite as a way of filling gaps in their caregivers’ schedules. We view our Respite Care service as an opportunity to build a relationship with a new client. We find that our families will not only use our Respite Care once, but they will come back time and again when the strain of caregiving begins to grow.
Respite = Rewards
While some use our Respite Care to take a break, others use that time to address things left unattended. All of us have lives outside of daily caregiving, and sometimes those activities and relationships suffer.
The gift of time is a reward you can use to help develop and grow. The gift of time is a gift that you can give to other family and friends for which they will thank you.
If you are a family caregiver we only ask one thing. Try our Respite Care services. Give us an opportunity to share with you the value of respite for a weekend or even just an evening.
Renew your relationship. Take a class. Attend a family event. Visit with your children. Fall asleep on the beach. Whatever you choose, know that your responsibilities are taken seriously, handled professionally, and given unparalleled personal attention.
